These Terms of Use govern your use of PlateScan (the "app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Not Medical Advice

PlateScan uses AI to estimate calories and nutrition from photos and barcode data. These estimates are approximations and may be inaccurate. PlateScan is not a medical device and does not provide medical, dietary, or health advice. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions, especially if you have a medical condition, allergy, or eating disorder.

Accounts

You may use PlateScan without an account, in which case your data stays on your device. If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

Subscriptions

PlateScan offers auto-renewing monthly and annual subscriptions, billed through your Apple ID.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price you agreed to at purchase.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID Account Settings, after purchase.
Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies, not by us directly.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to reverse-engineer it, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Disclaimer of Warranties

PlateScan is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy of nutritional estimates or that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes to the App or Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the app, and may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.
